I am delighted to have been invited to collaborate again with New Zealand film company Klean Slate Films. We will be working together on their latest film, Hope, which goes into production later this year.
My previous film work with Klean Slate
I started working with Klean Slate at the end of 2020, when they brought me in to write the musical score for the film, The Outsider. Work on that film completed in summer last year, and in the autumn the film gained an Official Selection in the Toronto Independent Film Festival.
I am very excited to be invited to write the music for their latest film project. Collaborating with the Sukhvir Parmar (director) and his team last year was a lot of fun. The stories that Sukhvir portrays in film are a real rollercoaster emotionally. Of course, creatively, that is one of the exciting challenges of working with him.
I get to draw on these emotional threads running through the film and write music that supports those emotions. At the same time, my aim is to help develop the storyline and draw the audience closer to the characters.
